Are you concerned about potential mold growth or asbestos-containing materials in your home or building? Our virtual inspection service remotely examines your property for hazardous molds and potential asbestos to protect your health.

How It Works

Our remote environmental inspection process is convenient and thorough:

  1. Complete the Questionairre. Download it here.
  2.  Do you have a general contractor? If so, it will help if that person can be available to review this questionairre and be present at our meeting. That isn’t always possible, but it will be helpful for you. This isn’t a requirement.
  3. Schedule your virtual inspection. Pick a date and time for your remote video inspection at booking. We are available Monday through Friday, 8AM – 4PM PST – calendar COMING
  4. Comprehensive interview. The inspection starts with your environmental consultant confirming your areas of concern based on the Questionairre answers. Be sure to tell your consultant any additional information that is important to you.
  5. Video facility walkthrough. During your appointment, we conduct a 30 minute video conference walkthrough of your property using your smartphone or other mobile device. We examine areas relevant to mold and potential asbestos containing materials. Please walk your job site with your smart phone/tablet to confirm that your site has a strong internet signal on the exterior of the building, if that is to be part of our appointment.
  6. Review of findings. Our inspector’s review of the walkthrough footage and discuss significant findings, recommendations, and next steps during the video call. You get immediate feedback.
  7. Detailed inspection report. We provide a video of your inspection, written report summarizing our inspection findings, including a transcript of the video walkthrough. Closed captions are added to the video.
  8. Follow-up mold testing. If recommended, we can ship you mold test kits for DIY air or surface sampling and analysis by our laboratory. Virtual results consultation is included.

Mold Inspection

Mold can pose serious health hazards when present in indoor environments. A virtual mold inspection helps identify contamination, sources of moisture, and provides remediation recommendations:

    • Visually examine walls, ceilings, floors, HVAC systems, attics, crawlspaces, bathrooms, basements, and other high-risk areas for signs of actual or potential mold growth.
    • Identify plumbing leaks, condensation, drainage issues, and other moisture sources that may allow mold infestation.
    • Review conditions around windows, doors, siding, and exterior materials for water intrusion risks.
    • Discuss findings, control options like dehumidification, and if needed mold sampling strategies.
    • Provide captions and transcripts of the video walkthrough, ideal for insurance claim documentation.

Asbestos Inspection

Asbestos was widely used in building construction before being banned in the 1970s. A virtual assessment helps identify concerning materials:

    • Examine interior and exterior walls, flooring, roofing, insulation, siding, joint compounds, and other suspect asbestos-containing materials.
    • Discuss risks of disturbance and recommended control options if asbestos hazards are identified or considered likely.
    • Review permits, certifications and other documents helpful in assessing asbestos risk.
    • For renovations/demolitions we explain notification rules and requirements for abatement by licensed professionals prior to work starting.
